Justice For Rodney Taylor
A Beloved Community Member Subjected to Inhumane Detention and Facing Deportation.
For over 40 years, Rodney Taylor has called Atlanta home. He arrived as a child seeking life-saving medical care and grew into a pillar of his community—a dedicated barber and a generous volunteer.
Now, his life hangs in the balance.
For eight months, ICE has imprisoned Rodney at the notorious Stewart Detention Center, despite his pending green card application. As a double amputee, Rodney’s survival depends on his prosthetics. For months, ICE denied him access to them. Now, with new devices that are ill-fitting and unusable, every attempted step feels like “walking on sharp needles or glass,” causing him excruciating pain.
Stewart is a place of horror: weeks without air conditioning, systemic medical neglect, abuse, and forced labor. These conditions are a death sentence for a man with Rodney’s serious medical needs.
A judge heard his case last month, but Rodney still waits in agony for a decision. His freedom, and potentially his life, depends on us.
Every signature adds pressure. Every dollar brings him closer to home. Don’t let Rodney be forgotten.
