If you’re going to college and have a physical address in the state where your college is located, you may choose to register in either your college state or your home state. (Pick one!) Here are the states where your vote counts most: AZ, CA, GA, MI, NC, NV, NY, PA, WI.

The next GA election is 11/4/2025. The deadline to register is 10/6/2025.

Here’s How to Register

Do you have a GA driver’s license or ID?

If Yes:

  • You’re probably already registered. Check My Voter Page
  • If it says “Information Not Located”, click “Register” and follow the prompts.
  • If you need to update your address, click “Update Voter Information”.

What if you don’t have a GA driver’s license or ID?

You can still register with a paper form!

  1. Get a form from the Schuster Center, Room 216 or print one from https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/resource/1648789623000/GAOLVR
  2. Fill it out. Print clearly with a blue or black pen!
    • Write your name in line 1 and your GA address in line 2. If you receive mail at a different address, write that address in line 3.
      • If you live on campus, write the street address of your residence hall in line 2 and your campus mailbox address (including your CMB#) in line 3
      • If you live on campus, your county is Muscogee. If you live off campus, double-check your county at https://tools.usps.com/zip-code-lookup.htm (enter your address, then click the down arrow to see your county).
      • Either when you register OR the first time you vote, you will have to provide proof of your address. (A current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that show your name and address, or a lease or housing contract which has your name and address.. If you live on campus , the Housing Department at CSU may be able to provide a letter verifying your address.)
    • On line 4 write your telephone number so that the Elections Office can contact you if there are any problems with your registration. Enter your birthdate.
    • On line 5 skip Driver’s license Number and enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
    • On line 6 read the oath carefully, Then (if applicable) check the boxes, enter the date, and sign with a pen.
  3. Submit your application.
    • Mail your completed application, copies of your ID (CSU ID, valid Driver’s license or ID from any state, or current US passport), and proof of address (if you are able to provide that now) to:

    • (It would be a good idea to keep a copy)
  4. IMPORTANT: Confirm you registration about 2 weeks after registering by going to My Voter Page. If you get “Information Not Located” or if there is an error in your profile, contact your county elections office (Muscogee 706-653-4392) or look up your county elections office at https://mvp.sos.ga.gov/s/county-election-offices. You should receive a precinct card with your polling location about 2-4 weeks after registering, however, this information is also available on My Voter Page.. The card is just for your records.

FAQs

How long do I have to live in Georgia before I can register to vote?

There is no minimum period you are required to have lived in the state before registering to vote. You may register as soon as you move into your new community. However, Georgia requires voters to register at least 30 days before an election in order to vote in that election.

Do I have to have a Georgia Driver’s License to vote in Georgia?

No, a CSU ID, a current driver’s license or ID from any state, or a passport will be accepted as Voter ID. To see a full list of acceptable IDs or if you need assistance acquiring appropriate ID contact VoteRiders.

What if I’m already registered in Georgia but need to update my address?
  • If you have a Georgia Driver’s License or ID you can update your address on My Voter Page . In the first section (Personal Information), scroll down and you will see a blue oval that says UPDATE VOTER INFORMATION.
  • If you do NOT have a Georgia Driver’s License or ID use the paper form following the instructions listed above, but also check “CHANGE OF ADDRESS” in the top right corner. Write your new address in line 2 and your old address at the bottom of the form on line 8. Also, write your name, mailing address if needed, phone number, birthdate, SSN, sign and date. Submit the form to the Secretary of State as described above.

Vote Early in Person October 14-31! During early voting you can go to any early voting location in the county in which you are registered. Go to My Voter Page and under Polling Information click “EARLY VOTING POLLING LOCATIONS”.

Or vote on Election Day on November 4 from 7am—7 pm at your assigned polling location only. Find it at My Voter Page, under Polling Information you will see Precinct Information.

Be sure to take acceptable ID with you when you vote or you will be turned away. If you were not able to provide Proof of your Address when you registered, you will have to take that in order to vote the first time.
